Visual programming for children from 7 years old

Scratch programming is based on the principle of visual blocks, which makes it easy to learn even from the age of 7. These blocks are commands and functions that can be freely interconnected to form algorithms and software structures.

In total, the course consists of 16 50-minute lessons

What does the child learn?

In this course, the child will learn the basics of programming, variables, functions, cycles and conditions. He will also study coordinates and simple mathematical operations.

  2. Review of the platform interface and writing the first program

Module 1

  1. Introduction to sprites: working with sprites and creating simple scripts.
  2. The basics of working with scripts: learning how to execute scripts sequentially and simultaneously.
  3. The practice of creating scripts: continuing to work with sprites and writing scripts.
  4. Diving into conditional operators: studying and using the conditional operator “if...”.
  5. Working with variables: an introduction to the concept of variables and their use in scripts.
  6. Data entry: study of data entry into a program and its use.
  7. Mastering cycles: learning and applying cycles in Scratch.

Module 2

  1. Continuing to work with cycles: an in-depth understanding of the use of cycles in different contexts.
  2. Exploring advanced concepts: an introduction to creating sprites and costumes.
  3. Working with the Pen extension: using this tool for drawing and animating.
  4. Practical use of the Pen extension: continuing to work with the tool, creating complex animations.
  5. Exploring lists: an introduction to the concept of lists and their use in scripts.
  6. The practice of working with lists: applying knowledge in practice, creating complex data structures.
  7. Introduction to functions: exploring and creating functions to optimize code.
  8. Final project: applying the knowledge gained to create your own project on Scratch.
