Minecraft is a video game that allows players to build and explore a world of blocks. Many people enjoy playing with friends, so creating your own server can be a very interesting project for those who want to customize their world and invite other players to play together.
There are several ways to create a Minecraft server, we'll show you how to use the free Aternos hosting service. This service allows you to create servers without having to pay for hosting, provides a large number of settings and plugins, and even allows you to create your own mod builds for servers and play them with friends!
Let us examine the sequence of actions in more detail.
Step 1: Sign up on the site Aternos.org.
The first step is to register at aternos.org. Click on the “Register” button and fill in all required fields.
Step 2: Create a new Minecraft server.
After registration, you will be redirected to the server management page. Click on the “Create Server” button.
Step 3: Customize the server name and description.
On the creation page, you can change the default server name, description, and icon to your own! In addition, you can format the description text, which is sure to impress your friends!

Step 4: Set up the server.
This is where you can customize the version you want to play on and the core. The version must be the same on the server, both for you and your friends, otherwise you won't be able to log in.
The most popular kernels are:
- Vanilla is a clean version, no plugins or mods
- Paper/Bukkit — for plugins
- Fabric and Forge — mod versions
IMPORTANT: if you do not have a Minecraft license and you are playing the pirated version, be sure to check the “Pirate” box in the server settings.
In addition, don't forget to adjust the difficulty you need, otherwise there may be problems with spawning mobs, and therefore extracting the necessary resources.
When you start the server for the first time, the world will be automatically generated, but if you want to play in your own world, you need to go to the “Worlds” tab in the left menu and click on the orange “Download” button.
To find your world, you need to open the Minecraft folder (usually this button is in any launcher), then go to the saves folder — it stores all your saves.
Don't forget to become a server operator! This role provides access to all server commands.
To do this, go to the Players tab.
Go to the “Operators” category.
Enter your nickname in the line next to the “Add” button.
And click Add.

Step 5: Start the server.
After all settings are configured, click the “Start Server” button. Aternos will automatically launch your server and give you access to the management console.
Don't worry, if the server takes a long time to start, this is quite possible, especially if it's the first run.
Step 6: Connect to the server using an IP address.
Once the server starts, you'll be given an IP address that you can use to connect to your server using Minecraft.
Now you and your friends can join the server and start playing Minecraft together. Use chat to chat and collaborate when creating new buildings or items.
Be careful when inviting other people to your server. Be sure to install control plugins on your server to prevent potential conflicts with other players.
